Kongskilde brings Matho’s label waste expertise into its global portfolio
Matho becomes Kongskilde’s label specialist, combining pioneering label-industry expertise with Kongskilde’s global material handling capabilities, system engineering and customized solutions.
MATHO Absaugtechnik GmbH and the Thor family were among the original innovators of equipment for handling label production waste. Their groundbreaking approach to cutting and extracting continuous matrix waste and trim helped transform how producers manage waste directly at the press. Over the following decades, Matho built deep knowledge of self-adhesive materials, edge trim and other difficult production waste.
Today, that expertise is now part of Kongskilde Industries. Together, Matho’s specialized knowledge of press-side cutting and extraction and Kongskilde’s pneumatic conveying and material handling technologies enable complete systems designed around each customer’s production process. Kongskilde can support the complete material flow, from compact machine-side solutions to centralized systems serving multiple production lines, covering waste capture and cutting at the press through pneumatic conveying, separation, collection and compaction.
Turning specialist label knowledge into new solutions
The combined expertise is already supporting continued product development for Kongskilde. Matho’s understanding of label production helps address challenges at the press, while Kongskilde’s conveying and collection capabilities extend the solution through the rest of the production process.
The CUB Compact Unit is one example of this development. Designed to capture, cut, convey and collect label production waste close to the press, it brings several handling steps into a single compact system. Multiple collection options are available to suit different materials and amounts of waste, significantly reducing the need for manual handling and removal.
From the press to complete material handling
Self-adhesive matrix and continuous trim need to be removed reliably at production speed. Depending on the application, a solution can serve an individual press or route waste from multiple machines to centralized collection or disposal equipment.
